Che Filter Cigarettes is a brand that tastes more or less like Prince Filter Cigarettes. But there's a twist to the flavor since every time you smoke one, you're punching communism in the face. Which makes them so much better than regular cigarettes.
Smoking kills. |
Anyone who's been on the internet, or know a hipster, knows who Ernesto "Che" Guevara is. But for you who don't know, he was an "Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, intellectual, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military theorist." according to Wikipedia.
The keyword here is "Marxist revolutionary". Meaning that he was a communist. As we all know, I'm a capitalist myself. I'm all for free market. Private ownership gives me a boner. So I find it kind of ironic that one of the most well known advocates for communist now got his face on ad campaigns, t-shirts, coffee cups and now cigarettes. The very thing he was fighting against, capitalism, is now using his dead likeness to earn money.
"His experiences and observations during these trips led him to conclude that the region's ingrained economic inequalities were an intrinsic result of capitalism, monopolism, neocolonialism, and imperialism, with the only remedy being world revolution." -Wikipedia
Omg... what's next? Bob Marley soaps? O_o
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've heard of this but I know the man :)
ReplyDeleteQuite common in Germany
DeleteYou really made me want to smoke here. I really am glad that Che hasn't seen what happened to him. Unless he saw it from Communist Heaven. Which I'm pretty sure is regular Heaven.
ReplyDeleteHe seemed like a cool guy, maybe try not to disrespect him so much..
ReplyDeleteLook's like I'm gonna be smoking che cigarettes all the time now.
ReplyDeletemakes sense they would market cigs with a guy who killed 100 000s of people. I'm holding out for Stalin Brand myself.
ReplyDelete"killed 100 000s of people"?! where are you getting your "facts" from. Che fought several wars; in war, killing is inevitable. i don't know where you got the figure "100,000s", probably from the Cold War-era propaganda about Che that ignorant people still believe to this day. comparing Che to Stalin is not only ridiculous and insulting, but it shows your ignorance about anything and everything Che ever did or stood for. read a book.
DeleteToo bad I already quit smoking... using Karl Marx brand nicotine patches.

where can I find some in the U.S?
ReplyDeleteThe ignorance people show here pains me. Guevara has always treated his opponents with much respect. If only you had googled this very statement, you'd think twice before posting such a ridiculous comment on how he killed 'hundreds of thousands'. On top of that, putting another man down, especially in death, is not the mark of a great man. Shame on you.
ReplyDeleteché wasn't a communist or a marxist. Together with castro, he was a Cubanist (slightly different ideologie)
ReplyDeleteMmmm, let me see now, Capitalist cigarettes made by a Capitalist company almost £10 a pack, heavily taxed by a capitalist government or a pack of Che's at £3.50 that the government gets none of. I'll have to sleep on that one !!!
